Hi All,

Several years ago I randomly found an Weaver Apache Powder Company outside braced boxcar at a train show and it had these markings. It was made for the Gadsden Pacific Division Toy Train Operating Museum. I bought the car at the time. Since then, I have acquired the other two road numbers and four additional different cars with these markings. See the list below I have compiled.

What I want to know is if anyone knows of any other cars made by Weaver or Crown Model Products with the Danger Explosives/Danger Mining Explosives and Skull & Crossbones markings. If there are any, I want to track down the missing cars.

Weaver (GPDTTOM) Apache Powder Company Outside Braced Boxcar #1311

Weaver (GPDTTOM) Apache Powder Company Outside Braced Boxcar #1312

Weaver (GPDTTOM) Apache Powder Company Outside Braced Boxcar #1313

Weaver (GPDTTOM) Dragoon & Northern Outside Braced Boxcar #52280

Crown Model Products Southern Pacific of Mexico Outside Braced Boxcar (Spanish markings) #9500

Crown Model Products Southern Pacific of Mexico Outside Braced Boxcar (Spanish markings) #9438

Crown Model Products Southern Pacific of Mexico Outside Braced Boxcar (Spanish markings) #9426

Thanks for any information.

*Updated 1/16/21 with new car found.

Here are a few photos. The first is the Crown Model Products Southern Pacific of Mexico car with Spanish markings. The others show custom creations of mine resulting from some Weaver parts I got off of eBay. The second picture is of a Weaver (GPDTTOM) Tuscon Cornelia & Gila Bend outside braced boxcar with doors from one of the Apache Powder cars. The third is a Weaver Santa Fe outside brace boxcar (formerly with automobile markings, now patched out) with doors from the Dragoon & Northern car (with D&N logo patched out). I cannot access my Apache and D&N cars at the moment, so pictures of them will have to wait until Saturday evening.

Andy,

The other two car numbers had the same item number as car #9500. There may be more out there besides the other two I found as Crown Model Products sometimes made six or more of some cars. Then again, there might only be three of this car. Unfortunately, no documentation exists that I know of to give an exact answer and no others have presented themselves up to this point.
