Looking for Info - Weaver/Crown Model Products Outside Braced Boxcars with Danger Explosives/Danger Mining Explosives and Skull & Crossbones Markings - Updated 1/16/21

Still looking for information on any others that may exist besides the ones I have listed above. I can post photos of the known cars this weekend if necessary.

I have never seen any and would be interested in seeing the photos.

I'd like to see the Crown Model Products car (I have the others).  The Apache cars pop up on auction sites every now and again, and I have been seeing them more and more at train shows.  I bought the Dragoon & Northern from Gadsden and have not seen it on the secondary market yet.

Here are a few photos. The first is the Crown Model Products Southern Pacific of Mexico car with Spanish markings. The others show custom creations of mine resulting from some Weaver parts I got off of eBay. The second picture is of a Weaver (GPDTTOM) Tuscon Cornelia & Gila Bend outside braced boxcar with doors from one of the Apache Powder cars. The third is a Weaver Santa Fe outside brace boxcar (formerly with automobile markings, now patched out) with doors from the Dragoon & Northern car (with D&N logo patched out). I cannot access my Apache and D&N cars at the moment, so pictures of them will have to wait until Saturday evening.

As promised, here are the photos of the Apache Powder Company and Dragoon & Northern cars.

I'm still looking for more information about any other cars that have these types of markings.

A new car has been found. It is the same as the CMP SP of Mexico car from before, but has a different car number. I have updated the original post above to include it and have included a picture of it below.

Weaver may have done more then one number on the cars for the Gadsden Pacific Division Toy Train Operating Museum. I am not sure but with other club runs there were usually more then one number I was buying their ore cars and when they started with the box cars I ordered them at the beginning...........Paul 2

I thought that too. I emailed them not too long after I found the Dragoon & Northern car and two of the Apache cars. They confirmed that there were three Apache cars and just one Dragoon & Northern car. Those were the only two cars they made with the explosives markings.

I have a brand new Dragoon and Northern Weaver Outside Braced Boxcar if anyone still interested.

I managed to track down one of the Crown Model Southern Pacific of Mexico cars, #9500, and the item number on the box is OB-116.  Do the other two Crown Model cars use the same item number, or do they have unique item numbers?

The other two car numbers had the same item number as car #9500. There may be more out there besides the other two I found as Crown Model Products sometimes made six or more of some cars. Then again, there might only be three of this car. Unfortunately, no documentation exists that I know of to give an exact answer and no others have presented themselves up to this point.
