Does anyone know if a weaver loco with quasi sound can be operated with a conventional transformer.  Or can the sounds be adjusted and programmed?

The sound works currently, If the horn button is pushed, while the loco is stationary, 18 different messages are announced,  Example, headlights, engine idle,

etc.  So how can adjustments be made? or is not possible.  I would at least like have the headlights a little brighter.  or play all the sounds that are available

in the engine.    Is there a code similar to MTH, bell once horn twice to activate station sounds etc.  Thanks in advance for any assistance'..

Your QSI unit may have been upgraded. I've never seen a stock Weaver engine with QSI OEM that has the feature of various sounds that play in neutral. You might have QS-1, QS-2+, or QS-3000. I suggest you take a look at the top board and see what it says on the chip. I have a couple of QSI operating manuals in digital form that I can post if one of them matches your chip. Post the info on the chip and we can go from there.

Those manuals were posted on the old Scaled Tin Rail website, but that site went down when Art died and I don't know if the new site has them or not. It didn't the last time I looked but that was months ago.

Thanks very much SWH',  I was wondering if this engine will operate if hooked up to the MTH DCS Commander that I have.  I run my MTH ps2, 3s on that unit, and my conventiona'l s on regular AC.

I really don't want to take this engine apart, as it runs excellent' and the sound is great.  Plus, I'm not that good at taking them apart and putting them back together'.. Lately there's been a lot of complaints about Ebay, However,  I  got this engine on there for a very good price, it is like brand new, even though it is rated as used.   So I don't want to mess it up....Could you possibly email me those manuals you have...so I can take a look.  I wonder if the MTH cmdr is not compatible with this Weaver engine, which system would be'....

If the engine will operate in conventional mode using DC voltage, it should also operate on the DCS Commander as a conventional engine, in conventional mode.

Well Barry, I just came up from the cave'..The engine won't run in the conventional mode on the DCS Commander'...It blows the horn a very lpng time, , then the bell, then the engine idols. the it repeats,

the same sequence.  I also tried several other engines, that are not MTH and none of them run as well in the conventional mode'...MTH engines work fine PS 2, & 3. No PS1'.  But that's it.  The PS1 will not operate in the conv mode either'...
