Weaver Rolling Stock and Engines Lets see them

Last of my Weaver car's, all 3 rail. The Orange juice car has the sounds, white does not. The GP38-2 shell on the long flat car was the original shell. Gary made the shell and left the northshore name off it so I could put my DL&W decals on. The tmcc radio board failed one Christmas and it took a swan dive nose first 4 feet down to the floor. It got serious air hang time too.

Lee, the Phoebe Snow was a special run done by Weaver for Bob Thatcher of AM hobbies a long time ago.  My list of hard to finds is of about 4 or 5 more cars done by Eaver before they closed. .......Paul

Thank you Paul for the insite of the piggyback. Who or what was the car runs that read REA return to Sam car shop I think?? Need some help on this one I think I seen a car that had that

Yes I do agree. 

Here are some of my remaining Weaver items.  I've sold most of the freight cars I had because they did not fit my layout's era.

I think by now, you understand just what Weaver Models meant to all of us. I had the last 13 years they were in business. But for some, it all started when they opened their doors. On any given day they were open, you could walk in the front door and ask for a tour. They would get someone and give you the tour, answer any question you asked them. They would show what ever you wanted to see, pad printing, painting, building the freight cars, building the diesel engines, building the freight trucks, the computer cad drawings for any car they had or were working on, computer cad drawings to make the pad printing plates. They would even let you build your own freight car and guide you to completion and you putting it in the box for you to take home. You could not do that at Atlas, K-line, Lionel, MTH or Williams. The customer service was 100% all day everyday. They were not the biggest, but they sure were the best. Some on here didn't like them, or had a bad experience that left a bad taste in their mouth. I liked everything Weaver Models stood for, there are plenty of people on this forum who worked with Joe to get hundreds of freight cars, diesel paint schemes, Brass engines made. I was fortunate enough to be one of those, I helped Joe in making the only blueprint scale Brass DL&W steam engine in O scale. Plus the final push in getting the only blueprint scale Brass DL&W caboose. The caboose project was already on the table he said. I showed him pictures that he could paint the caboose not only in DL&W but Erie Lackawanna and Conrail too. Three different paint schemes for one model was worth the money he said. The memories are nice Lee, but I still wish Weaver Models was open for business.

thanks for the more insite of Weaver models. I like that you could make you own model. I call one time to order a TOFC trailer the lady who took my order was so nice one of the nicest people in this Business after taking my order  I told her I was from Missouri and said that there was a dealer in St. Louis they had a whole Lot of Weaver Models in his warehouse it was Jd trains. She said if I wanted to I could still order direct or go visit Jeff so I went to St. Louis one weekend and  visited him in the warehouse it was just amazing with all Weaver and atlas rolling stock and power units but he was gone a lot because of his job and it was hard for him at the time to work and keep his warehouse up I think he eventually went out of business I still today go by there when I’m delivering containers and think of the times  when I would go to  his warehouse which was only a couple times, like you I really like Weaver models  and I always will.

My experience with Weaver over thirty years was great! I can't count the number of very affordable pieces of Weaver rolling stock and engines in eastern PA paint schemes in my collection.  They eventually made my dreams come true with the making of the DL&W  Poconos ( I have two) and the Keyser Cabeese ( I have three different versions).  Walking through the plant was fun and they were most helpful in solving the very  few problems I experienced.

 After all these years these engines are among some of my best running and trouble free.  I'm in the process of adding ERR to several of them, making a great product even better. Great results so far!

I love those Baltics too and have a pair of them, real beauties. I have most of the Milwaukee Road offerings that Weaver produced over the years.

they are beautiful  thanks  for posting them and I don’t blame you I wouldn’t take them out of the box either my email is not working very good I seen it but lost thanks for the heads up. Was the Minneapolis & St. Louis a special run I never seen that one either 

 Here’s another one I received the other day in the mail I think I finally have all the C&O that I want that Weaver offered

I have 56 total Weaver pieces, including 43 PS-1 Boxcars, the full 49er Set (Brass Engine upgraded to PS2.0, the 5 Car Passenger Set, and the 2 Car Add On), a C&O 2-8-0, the UP 4-8-4 #8444 (as shown in my earlier video), 7 C&O Hopper Cars, and 2 Troop Cars.  Here is a short video of the 2-8-0 pulling a string of 18 PS-1 Cars.  I don't have a Weaver Caboose, otherwise this would be a 100% Weaver Consist.

Thought you all might appreciate this one.  Weaver did a special run of their VO-1000 for the PP&L Actitivies Committee about a 15 years ago or so.  It looks good with the other PP&L rolling stock including the caboose posted by others within this string.  The caboose was also a special run for the committee.  They also did a run of 3 oil tankers.   I am told that PP&L never used them for oil, but rather filled them with cement as a counterweight?  But this is a neat little engine.  I have many other pieces of Weaver rolling stock (note the Reading and D&H in the background),  and really miss their products.  

That's an MTH GP38-2, Bob, the fans are close together.  The Weaver GP38-2 (based on earlier 38s) has fans spaced further apart like Reading GP39-2s that I'm converting one into.  The VO-1000 is great, I've got one I'm painting into SMS (the NJ switching RR).

Thanks Jason - good eye and you’re absolutely right.  I was actually referring to the  piece of D&H rolling stock behind the Reading.  BTW, the MTH D&H GP38-2 is my favorite engine.  You know, it’s just one of those that just seems to glide around the track effortlessly!  Good luck on your project.
