If anyone knows how to reattach the stainless steel screen (looks like factory used a glue) on the upper nose, let me know please ... best, richard ... maybe super glue?

Allan ... Appreciate reply ... I will try that in the bright light of day ... early next week ... any hints on keeping the glue off the locomotive finish?

I have about the same luck with paint and glue, lucky to get 1/3 of it in the right place ... I am picturing the super glue squirting out from under the grill, as it is pressed onto the nose ...

Wondering if a slower acting adhesive, one which gets applied to each surface, might be easier to control???

My glue coefficient is below 10% ... often wishing I had done it another way ...

Thanks again, richard

I cannot imagine hot glue being appropriate - it's for attaching trees to a layout, and the like.

The CA ("Super Glue") is almost certainly what the factory used. It is typically not very "residue prone". If you remove the boiler and get at it from the underside you may be more comfortable, but first you have to remove the boiler...are you comfortable with that?

It's just a little glue; wont hurt the paint; use a toothpick; don't use much.

Too much CA is actually counter-productive, anyway.

Practice. Get a scrap or 6 of something small. Try a few times . Get a feel. Beats a YouTube video. (Really?)

Thank you for asking, I will check my files, but I purchased this used, and to the best of my knowledge, there was no documentation, but I assume it is much like several other similar Art Deco era Weaver locomotives, made about the same time, and there are about 5 or 6 of these ... it took me a while to locate a good used one to purchase, and I have not run this locomotive, nor re-attached the ss nosepiece ... guessing super glue would be a good approach if used very sparingly.  Good luck in your query, and best regards, respectively, richard
