My trip to Train Stock got cancelled. Frown So while many of you were here:

I was able to run trains at the Virginia Museum of Transportation's layout. Please excuse the plexiglass reflections in the pictures.

Let's see your pictures.

Walt, as an aging Hoopster, I love this scene. Thanks for sharing.

Not much to look at but I chose it because it was one of 2 fun mini-projects that I made for the layout in 2011. it was fun researching dimensions of the lane, the diameter of the hoop, the size of a basketball, etc.

It's part of the playground/picnic area scene.

Hope you don't mind that I'm starting another year of 'memories'.

Jeff,

Glad you tracked down 8812. Originally, Lionel cataloged two powered units and a dummy, but only produced 8810. then a year or two later, they produced 8812. I have the Atlas PRR GP-7's which have more accurate graphics, (cab number font style and size incorrect on the Lionel) but for some reason I purchased 8810. Then, Charlie Ro blew out the 8812's, and I picked one up, even though I passed on it when first recataloged. But now that I have both, they are among my favorites. Great sound! I run them a lot.

If only they would do a PRR GP-9 version with roof antenna...and two powered units with a dummy to sandwich in between.

Scott, what is going on with the buildings in second photo?

There is an on-going project at the museum where we are upgrading areas of the layout. The "City of Richmond" area use to consist of some poorly made housing kits. Now those are being replaced with MTH Railking buildings, so you are looking at a work in progress.
