End of Train Cars
A few months ago I posted a thread on 'cabeese' having always liked them. Recently, we've acquired 8 more thru judicious trading and select purchases

Among them are two K-Line aluminum Business cars and a N&W hvywt Observation. The cabooses are MTH PRR cabin cars, a Blue Santa Fe extended vision model, a SOU boom car, and a scale SF bay-window
This might be my favorite shot from this year. Doesn't really show a whole lot of trains, or even engines for that matter. But something about the feel of it appealed to me...the Canadian lumber boxcar...late day shadow of a tree...maybe it's on a hillside in Western Canada...a whole lot more romantic a notion than northern New Jersey Smile

I much appreciate hearing from you, Alan, and must confess I relished every word of what you so kindly said. To me, hearing approval from my fellow-hobbyists is important because it is well-informed and first-hand. We all learn so much from each other.

I too appreciate Scott's keeping this thread continuing because of the myriad ideas generated and shared. The congeniality is stellar, also.
Thank you, Alan.

Paul, if I recall I think you were buidling a new layout. Hopefully the pic with the Coke set is the begining!

Good memory Greg, it is the beginning. I've been waiting till after the holidays to pick up a case of Gargraves track but I'm still working on a track plan so it's been slow going.

Thanks, Peter. Yes, it is amazing how bad lighting and close up angles can make a modest layout look like more than it is!! Big Grin Those shelves look great. What are they, Rail Rax??

Dave O'Connor finished the scratch-built roundhouse for the club layout this past week. He did a fantastic job. It was made from 1/4" plywood and MDF. The window frames are from Rusty Stumps mounted on clear styrene and have fantastic detail. The interior features work benches. The roof coating is N scale ballast. The vent stacks do work, but there's an internal fan to vent smoke out of the roundhouse and prevent clouding of the windows. The doors were made from styrene, some by Jack Kemph aka "The Apprentice." (The kid's skills are improving.)

Matt I really LIKE THE LOOKS OF THE RH. Could you please take pictures of the rear of the RH and a close up of the finish detail of the vertical walls. Thanks a lot. Smile
