Here are my pictures from "Where no Man has gone before..."

The first picture gives you perspective on the second 2.

Here he is, the man, the myth, the legend.  And William Shatner

The door on the boxcar opened when the assistant handed it to Mr. Shatner so his signature was a little squished but the car is now officially signed by The Captain!

I really like my recently acquired Lionel Legacy model of Boston & Maine Ten-Wheeler #2074 except for the toy-like light-grey color of the firebox and smokebox. This engine has classic looks, excellent steam sounds and is just the right size for my 10’-by-5’ New England style model railroad. Ten-wheelers were used to pull both freight and passenger trains, and I’ve been running both types of consists. I would like to see Lionel release this model in Boston & Albany livery…

This is the 3rd of the temp layouts that I built earlier this year for 2 reasons:

1.  Bored still due to COVID restrictions.
2. Having too many items that I got enjoyment from seeing on the layout to be able to use all of them on my Christmas Layout = I had to pick and choose each year which to use.
These temp layouts allowed for me to feature one holiday and use ALL pieces.

A couple of shots from last weekend's Greenberg show in Monroeville, PA.  The first is a billboard I made that was inspired by a couple of my fellow Hi-Railers who took an Amtrak trip from Pittsburgh to the Grand Canyon and back and had the "Full Amtrak Experience."

The second is Lionel legacy 4-6-0 custom painted for the Monongahela RR by one of our other members.

Look at them. Dreaming inside their boxes about heading to the Harmon Shops for upgrades. I was talking with Pat this morning what work is going to be done, and had hoped my lighter the normal weekend schedule would get them in a shipping box today and out the door, not to be. However though, I cancelled one of my plans for today so I can make a trip out tomorrow to get these out and do the other cancelled plan tomorrow. Just seems anymore I get things done by the skin of my teeth. Rest assured, these will get to Pat sometime next week to join the que and we will be seeing some stuff pop up soon on my Mohawk (18009) that made its way to him.

P.S., that is the Hudson J1's, the KLine and Lionel(with the Vandy tender).

I posted photos of my NKP version after it was painted by Harry in the original thread relating to the Ten-Wheeler color mistakes. It turned out great.  I don’t think it was overly expensive and makes a significant improvement. You should consider it for your B&M.

Great layout, by the way!

Hi Frank -

Nassau Lionel Operating Engineers, 60’ Lionel smooth side, custom painted. Cars are OK. Masking lines are not smooth. Had to add a few corrections also. Better than nothing.

The MTH & Lionel 20” cars book better on large layouts. I like to keep everything under 60’.

IMW is the only correct commuter cars but still 70’ is to long for O scale plus their cars are 2 rail.

We really need all the CORRECT LIRR versions offered in 60’.

K-Line 60' was the only model to get close with doors at both ends of their cars but were still not accurate.
