Weekend Photo Fun 8-11-17-??

Location is Rigby Yard, South Portland ME.

Southbound to Boston, Amtrak Downeaster approaching Rigby Yard. 

Northbound Downeaster crossing the marsh in Scarborough, ME.  Date is 2006.   The cabbage is still in Phase IV paint.

About six weeks ago, I posted a photo of my model Mifflin tower, located in the borough of Mifflin, PA, near the center of the commonwealth. Since then, I have added additional line side detailing, This includes the pneumatic piping, valves, and air tank (just to the left of the tower in the first photo) to operate the turnouts within Mifflin Interlocking. The piping is visible in all three photos. A photo of the prototype is also included.  Please note the detailed interior of the tower. The bald tower operator can be seen peering out the window and looking towards the right. Other details are an interlocking diagram panel, clock, bulletin board, desk with phone, lockers and a fire extinguisher. The final photo shows some lineside detail at the eastern end of the interlocking, including the footers for the signal bridge, relay case, line drop from the line pole, and pneumatic piping. The battery well still has to be installed. I have included a map of the area so you know where the prototype is located. It's tough to see, but look for the red marker right in the center of the Pennsylvania. The final picture shows the site of Mifflin tower as it appeared a few months ago. The tower is gone, but the pneumatic tank along with the piping as seen on my layout is still there!

Glad you posted those pictures Alex. Always admired how you have converted the Bank buildings to stations. They are awesome.

Tunnel portals and I bought an old plumbing store I'm turning into a fun grill with a big outdoor deck that will overlook the river!  Perfect place to watch the trains crossing the bridges!

Hopefully this is okay for the thread.  I've been buying 1/43 and 1/50 diecast vehicles for my layout, some of which I buy knowing that I will modify them.  Here are few that I've done so far.

The matte black C3100 was 100% identical to the green one.  I had to cut out the bed for the bigger wheels and add wheel wells.

This Chevy was a bank.

A weathered White WC22 Dump truck.  This was missing a mirror and the weather was a pain to get off of the windshield, marker lights, and headlights.  I painted it white to match the First Gear Kenworth and Mack that I have.

This 'layout memory' is special to me: the pavilion in the scene is a model that I made of THE pavilion in North Park(Grant Grove - note the sign) where I met someone special in my life.  I know I've said that before here but with so many new people coming on board I thought I'd repeat.  I have way better shots of it but not from 2016.
