Happy Friday!

The kids have been helping me for the last 2 weeks come up with improvements to the track plan. One thing they really wanted was a 2nd train running for more action.

I decided to squeeze in a small inner loop with some 027 track. Had to reconfigure the town a bit to do so. I painted some temp roads for the new configuration yesterday. Also can't decide between the 362 barrel loader or the 364 log loader for the far spur on the outside track. There's only room for one & they keep changing their minds lol.

The convention hotel for the NMRA national convention was across the street from the restored Kansas City Union Station.  The station houses many activities including a huge model railroad exhibit.  The model railroad exhibit has 8,000 square feet of toy trains.  The exhibit includes layouts in scales from Z to G and layouts with multiple scales.  It is a must see for model train visitors to KC.  Here are photos of only part of the exhibit.  NH Joe

This is a multi gauge layout consisting of G on the outer loops, then O 3-rail, and then some HO on the inner most loops.  The scenery is well done.  Many trains were running.  All the displays are at kid height which makes it easy viewing for the youngest among us.

Walt great Christmas layout memories for 2017, have you started to plan for this year?

Thanks for saying that.  Yes, for what I think is the first tme ever, my track plan came together very very quickly.  as always, I established 3 "MUST HAVES" and things just fell in place.  When coming up with a track plan I also decide what scenery features I want to include.  Then I try to combine them.

Somehow this year I finished in a month.  So I've been bored the last 3 months

Again, as always, thanks - walt

Well, if you’re taking the 7 train to the ballgame, you must be going to Shea Stadium for a Met game, so that stands in your favor... but, as a life long denizen of the NYC Subway system, how the 7 train (what looks like a Worlds Fair R36 car)  ended up at Wall Street, I’ll never know And that is an excellent representation of an MTA station!!!
