Great photos !! Looks like a fun room to be in while running trains.
JEP high voltage train set from 1925, the freight cars have been made through 1965 with still the same bodys, only wheels arrangements and couplers have seen modifications, a really long production run. Still running good today.
Have a great tinplate weekend, Daniel

Half a year ago I showed here a couple of BING Balkanzug coaches. Last week I found a BING clockwork locomotive which allthough some 90 years old had a very unspoiled lithography. So now I have a matching locomotive for my Balkanzug.
And here the Balkanzug had a run:

Finally got layout modifications to my top level European 1 gauge to the point where I can run trains. The Bing bridge is all original ca. 1898 except for the flags and track. Other accessories are a mix of originals and reproductions. This video shows a Maerklin Adler (Eagle) Gauge 1 locomotive and cars, set No. 5751, made in 1985 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the locomotive. The locomotive has been modified from its original 2 rail configuration so that it will run on three rail tinplate track.
For Memorial Day weekend, we are having a stock holder's day, to show everyone what our shop can do . Several trips are planned this weekend with our recently arrived 600 cars and the finished Black Diamond cars.
an interesting size comparison between the 9991 and 224E.
Chris that is a beautiful room!
and those European trains are stunning!

My LC/MTH 254E (Traditional) is heading off to a repair center as soon as I find one nearby that will take a look at it. It's been a poor runner since day one and now has gone dead...suspect it's an E-unit issue but I've had no luck sorting it myself. Time to turn it over to an expert:
This thing has less than an hour on the clock...frustrating.
PD
Edit :: Dropped the 254E off today with the guys at Toy Trains Unlimited in Hanover, PA...hopefully they can get it sorted. I'm on to other projects.

Hi friends,
I was going to continue our tour of UK engine sheds with a London & Northeastern facility near Newcastle. That way I could display my Bing LNER interurban together with my Bing Super clockwork Flying Fox and Hornby's hard to find 20V Yorkshire 4-4-0.
But I had a fantastic local opportunity to buy 4 acrylic display cases to increase my displays. It took a couple of days to transport and install them. Here are two photos of the work in progress. I particularly liked the ability to group the American Flyer, Ives, Weimar,Hafner, Wittrock, Joy Line, and Colin Duthie built Hornby USA locomotive in one cabinet.
I just completed the 4th installation and next week I'll show more photos.

Have a Great Tinplate Weekend
Enjoy the long Memorial Day Weekend
Greg
I like that Greg! thanks for sharing.
crews were eager to get started one on of the 600 cars, so they picked the worst of the bunch.
the old paint and rust were cleaned off quickly.
and on with the new. The colors aren't exact, but they were board approved, especially after they saw the price.

Dave, that is perfect, what are the colors and the source? I've been wanting to do a set in those colors for a while.

Well done Dave! Don't worry about the colors being exact. Close enough is close enough!
Great stuff this week guy's!
Great restoration Dave, for me also the paint looks good. There is no necessity to find a perfect matching paint, a restored model is still restored even with matching paint.
The most important is to have pleasure doing it. Daniel.
Thanks Guys.
Dennis here goes-
the dark green is Rust-Oleum Painters Touch 2X Gloss Hunter Green 18765
the light green is Rust-Oleum Painters Touch 2X Gloss Key Lime 18761
paint+primer, these both came from Rural King, under $5 each
the windows are Valspar Project Perfect paint+primer Satin Whipped Apricot 84212
found at Lowes on sale for $3.63
Two of my cars are in the condition of the second one, and I would probably have left them as is, but the other two are ruff. So I'll repaint all four.
Thanks Dave. I agree, looks close enough to me. I can see this becoming a habit for you repainting these passenger sets! Its fun and they look great!
I noticed that myself....and as a matter of fact I have a lone 2431 Observation awaiting a couple of stray coaches to be found.....like to do a set in Pennsy colors....
Observations are like stray cabeese, always more than you know what to do with

Quite a line up, Rob. Too bad the photos came out so small, really like that line up! Especially that GS4 in the middle.

Looks great, will you be adding Pullman and the coach number to it? I use rubber stamps as they look original. It takes practice but is worth it. I do not mind buying the stamps as deal do come up on these cars and if you have them it is easy to make it look original as possible.
I use daecals, have used them on three sets so far, and I am pleased with the results.
nothing super interesting this week, but fit within my budget.
Joyline 106 clockwork loco and 353 Everful tank car
New Marx 9351 Sears Boxcar
and I got a set of the interurban bridge sides from the Flynns. Looks like they still have a few sets left. Now if I only had a Marx Redbird or CTA overhead set to go with them!

Do you have any more information on where to get these bridge sides? I could use a couple of them. Thanks.
Congrats to Chris and everyone for a great tinplate line-up as always!
