Here are two photos of  33xx locomotives.  The 3 holes in a row are for brass safety valves.

 

It looks as if there might be some variation in the other details along the top of your locomotive from those that I am showing.  The three holes would hold those brass valves.

thanks  I will get to finding those,also,maybe getting used to it but my 1st thought was having it repainted but now not so sure has a very insteresting finish,not smooth,would hate to loose that ,those are sharp engines ,is the 1st one restored?

Fellas, Terry loco is Wide gauge.  Terry, it is original finish and as mentioned in several place, is best cleaned with a damp terry cloth rag.  No soap, No polish. Flyer wide had super gloss, satin and matte finishes depending on the year. The tender can be off sheen for the loco, and be totally original. If you take this apart to add stuff to boiler, beware that over tightening screws can snap the casting. Best to add the easy stuff like smoke stack and leave her be, IMO.  I really like how Flyer designed these locos to look so similar in Narrow and Wide gauges.

sage advice,thanks,i would like to retain the original front an rear trucks,the rear has the # on but missing a wheel ,which I bought 2 new wheels and a complete truck from hennings,,,is there anybody skilled in replacing these wheels I could send them off to? thanks guys you have all be super help to me

Of course it is.   You would think I would be able to tell the difference between Narrow and Wide Gauges by now.  It was pretty obvious if I would have looked at the couplers.  Sorry for the misleading information, and thanks for catching it Rob.

Yep, now I know why I couldn't find it in the O gauge book.  To me, the difference was the piping going into the middle stack on the O gauge engine. That was missing on the Std gauge model. Also, I should have known from the bell-ringer slot.

Popped in to one of my favorite threads- great to see all the posts, vids and pics!

Nothing happening train-wise to share - all of my trains are boxed up as we are gearing up to sell this house. We'll be getting out of Dodge having by then bought a larger home in the Midwest. I will have a dedicated room(s) for my Std Gauge and my O-scale there.

thank you Fred. The description from the seller in France gave no details other than the photos. Guess I will break out my old Flyer S-gauge track and start searching for the CIWL restaurant coach to go with these passenger coaches.

Jim,

That restaurant coach in your picture is at another scale/size than the coaches you have; JEP did not make a restaurant coach to go with the streamlined locomotive. They made in S 3 sizes of coaches, in the smallest size only a green passenger coach and a red postal car:

In 0 gauge JEP made coaches in some 7 different sizes. The story goes that they started out as a manufacturer of cooking ware (pots and pans) and of course the same pan is made in many sizes.
