Mike,

My understanding is that the seminars will not be conducted this York. MTH plans to set up that area as a hands-on workshop for the DCS App. Who knows, I might get to visit the member hall that I typically pas on due to a lack of time.

Seminars should, I expect, return in October. Assuming that they do, I plan to redevelop the existing DCS seminars to be based upon the DCS App instead of the DCS Remote.

See you at the meeting!

Owen,

If the premium version is available at the meeting, will the TIU and Remote have to be upgraded as well as the WIU firmware?

The Premium app requires only an upgrade to the TIU code. The remote will also get an update, however, it's only required if you use the remote. The WIU firmware stays at version 1.1, where it's been for quite some time.

We'll have the latest available upgrades at the meeting.

Do i need to upgrade to the "premium" version prior to coming to the meeting?

No, not unless there's a question that you want to ask one of us that would be better asked fi you could point it out in the app. Upgrading of DCS and/or WIU's is not predicated on having upgraded to the Premium app.

Will you be attending the meeting?

Barry,

change in plans, the wife has a doctor's appt in the evening, and i will be watching the kiddos.  So I will have to wait until Fall to see you again.  I am still looking forward to reading the report, hopefully there will be some clear answers to the questions I submitted.

Thanks again,

John Z.

edit - just to clarify, my interest in a new tinplate wheel arrangement is in O gauge- nothing wrong w/ standard gauge, just not my bag

you mention it's necessary to upgrade a TIU to version 6.0 software if using the DCS Premium App but is a WIU firmware upgrade from version 1.0 to version 1.1 also necessary for using the Premium App?

Yes.

Will upgrades on a WIU's firmware from version 1.0 to version 1.1 also be done at the User's meeting?

Yes.

Barry, could a WIU be bricked and made useless similar to if there's a glitch during the flashing of a computer's firmware? If that's possible would there be a way to recover so the WIU would work again?
