Should be pretty easy. It has a single DC motor. You could actually use an ERR mini Commander is these. Cutouts for a run/program switch are already there. I am will to bet the trolley poles are insulated from the shell so antenna pickup should be no problem.

Relatively standard QSI DCRU, so I should think a, for example, PS 2.0 board from an MTH PCC would drop right in...

Just upgraded mine to TMCC using an ERR Mini Commander 2. About as easy as it gets. There are cutouts for a speaker and program switch. The poles are insulated from the body and its just a matter of connecting the antenna wires to them. No sound yet as I have to try and find a suitable board.
PS2/3 would be difficult due to the fact the motor is a 50 cent flat starter set mabuchi with no flywheel so a different motor would have to be used.
