...a new set of brushes makes. Thank God for people like East Coast Train Parts who carry repro postwar parts. Three years ago I picked up a 736 at York and it ran great for a couple of years. Recently it had been sluggish and I noticed sparks on the brushplate. I picked up a new set of brushes from East Coast yesterday at the Big E and installed them this morning. The old 736 runs like new. The total repair cost was $1.50.

New brushes do make a huge difference makes your engine run great again. I have a box about 3"x2"x1" calebaugh self-lubricating carbon brushes left over from my fathers Train store he had in the 50s There must be a couple thousand in there. It's pretty neat cause the box has a Washington 3 cent stamp on it with a philadelphia post office stamp over it. I have been wanting to rid it but haven't found anyone needing that many brushes yet. It would display nicely if I ever get my display cabinets built.
