After careful consideration, I may take a pass on this one. I'm not a Legacy guy and run mostly conventional and PW so the target for me is something along the Lion Chief Plus 2.0 line and selected rolling stock. The Lionel Lines 773 steamer and the Amtrak Genesis, both in 2.0, caught my eye but neither are must haves.

I usually wait a few weeks to get my hands on the hard copy catalog and give it another once over before the pre-order deadline and then decide. So we'll see.

However, outside of a random purchase here and there, I am getting close to the point of train saturation in having accurate models of nearly everything I'm interested in.  I can't believe I'm actually writing that.

Jonathan, I suspect we all go through that, so I sell off my oldest to make room for the newest and greatest!

But from this catalog, the biggest disappointment for me was that a long awaited Genesis diesel was in the LionChief line, not the Legacy line.  And I am waiting for the hard copy catalog to arrive so I can see if the Grand Canyon Railway set has cars with the proper Harrriman roofs - I cannot tell from the online graphic.  If so, that is my buy.  Steamer #29, although their generic model, is close enough, with a couple of changes, does a pretty good job of looking like the real item.

I suspect it will be the same tooling as the Reading cars, so roofs will be wrong for Harriman.

I'm looking at the unpowered EMD demonstrator SD45 with Super Bass.  I can run it with  any road power and enjoy the enhanced sound.  It will go along just fine with my EL SD45s , U-Boats or as back in EL's day, just about anything.  Part of the attraction is the fact that I had one in N Scale many years ago and always liked the paint scheme.
