For me, it will be the BNSF Coal Train Set (Wish they would do other unit trains besides coal and tankers) and a few of the SD70MACS.....Kind of pricey though for the non powered  Super Bass units, I wanted to get a few to go behind some of my older Legacy/TMCC MACS.

What about everyone else?

I was very happy to see Mr Muffins is doing some custom runs of the 2-8-0 steam locomotives in the Lionel V2 2021 catalog. I just pre-ordered the L&N. I hope Mr Muffins gets enough pre-orders for me to get the L&N one.

And I am strongly considering the hobo boxcar, though I wish it were offered in more southern railroad options.

Love the Strassburg #90, but the minimum radius and really high price stand in the way for it to happen for me.

Thinking about C-Liner(s) and New Haven passenger cars.  Will need some more shelving .  $500 each for the locos and $150 each for passenger cars is pretty much the going rate from Charles Ro on pre-orders, but they don't charge until they ship, which is the only way I'd pre-order.  Not inexpensive, but not ungodly expensive for a Legacy loco and passenger cars these days.  And not strikingly more expensive than the Premier locos these days from MTH.  And MTH doesn't have the overhead any longer of running a full line, full service train company

Nothing.

Items over the 60’ mark look odd in O scale to me unless you have a large layout to support it. Still waiting for the last delayed offerings to appear. CNJ Kitchen car and Roof hatch C of G.

Going forward, I would have to see new boxcar tooling before I would support these price increases. It would be a “must have” new item never offered in O before. Muffin is on track with items like an EL transition scheme line up and Pats CNJ RS-1 which both should have been offered years ago by MTH.

Thought about the Amtrak units, but don't think I'd be satisfied with the look of the LC versions.   So only thing so far is the special run Southern 2-8-0 from Legacy Station.   Previous catalog I pre-ordered nothing, then after seeing the Southern E8's kind of regretted it, but a local train shop had the set, price was ok.

I ordered the Canadian National C liner, both numbers. All the Hy cube box cars minus graffitti. And both hobo box cars............................Paul 2

I also ordered a C liner, but only 6705. With a Canadian National F3 pair soon to arrive from 3rd Rail, I had to tell myself to only order 1. Ironically I had ordered the MTH set back around 2002, but cancelled.

Im looking at the FM C-Liner demonstrators

PRR SD45 Superbase unit

EMD Demo Superbase unit

Ford and Ann Arbor Autoparts behemoths

PRR 1890 passenger set.

Im "on the fence" about #90 with red& gold rail logo and 1990's open end passenger set.

Since Murphy is my Gov, I know from experience the PRR and Strasburg RR set will arrive the same time. And thats a 2k hit for The pax sets that I really can't take a hit all at once!

I want the new BNSF Coal Train Set, the BNSF SD70MAC #9647 (AKA: The Vomit Bonnet), the BNSF Patched BN SD70MAC, the BNSF H3 SD70MAC, or the BNSF SW1200. I will probably just get the BNSF Coal Train Set. The SW1200s are nice, and I could use a smaller diesel switcher on a future layout. Plus the SD70MACs will run on O36 Curves, which is what I have now.

I ordered - ahem - quite a bit (i.e, everything) of S.P. locs ++ from the 2020 catalog.  Great product that works.  Hey!  Product quality is uniformly good.

From this catalog:

1.  The throw-back 773 as I have all previous Lionel 773 offerings (I believe four from 1950 on) and this looks to be beauty in LionChief 2.0.  Does anybody really need more than that?

2.  The 4276 Cab Forward / Grey Boiler.  A beauty!

3.  Possible ... S.P. 4-12-2

4.  Possible ... Grand Canyon set.  Nice.

Great catalog.  Thanks, Ryan and Dave!

I’m getting the DD35 #77 and a Genesis. I’m debating on the 4-12-2, but don’t know what to think about the exposed wires.

I also preordered a NKP 2-8-0 from Mr. Muffins. Hope they get enough preorders to make the custom runs.

For those getting the C-Liners, what is the biggest draw to getting them? I hadn’t heard of them before this week. I read a little about the engines but wanted to hear from the folks who preordered why you are excited about them. (The demonstrators are nice looking)

First,  I love the catalogs!  For many years, all I could afford was the catalog, it really was and still is a "dream book".  If I could pick one item, it would be the Hustle Muscle Freight Set.  I did get the Great Northern version of the SD45 engine and really liked it.  The freight cars are all desirable, especially the SP&S Caboose.  I have the MTH version of it, but this on has the camera. I tend to focus on railroads that operated in the Pacific Northwest and this set checks all the boxes...

My deepest thanks to the Lionel Team for their efforts to keep our dreams alive during a most challenging environment due to the COVID19 shutdowns.  So, the only way to truly say "Thanks" is to call my friends at Eastside Trains in Kirkland and place an order for this set!  Best,

2021 v2 Hustle Muscle Set

RT, you do know that 773 is the small Hudson?  Not a 773 semi-scale?

I did not find any items of particular interest in this catalog.  I was intrigued by the introduction of a GE P42, but would have been interested in a scale version of it to pull my GGD Amfleet and Viewliners.

However, outside of a random purchase here and there, I am getting close to the point of train saturation in having accurate models of nearly everything I'm interested in.  I can't believe I'm actually writing that.

Hard maybe on one of the Strasburg no. 90’s. The prices for them are very high, but since it’s a very popular and well known locomotive it’s also anyone’s guess how many of these (especially the paint scheme I want) will stay on the dealers’ shelves when they arrive.

More than likely I will preorder a few of the Strasburg wooden passenger cars however, since I have a good feeling those won’t stay in stock for long when they arrive next year…
