What is needed to run operating car?

I run my Legacy and TMCC engines with Legacy, and all I have are the Legacy #990 and #993. I run DCS as well.

What would I need to operate the Command Control Crane Car, for example?

For the above, the Lionel website says:
• TMCC CAB-1 Remote Controller and TMCC Command Base required

Given that I have the Legacy #990, would I still need to get these two items?

No a Legacy base works GREAT, nothing else needed. In fact with version 1.3 they made a special set of icons for it.

As far as I know any TMCC operating accessory will work just fine with Legacy.The only thing that does not work with Legacy without an additional purchase is the Powermaster

Look at Lionel YouTube videos, Mike made one just for the crane
