What is this Bridge Part?

With the kits I've put together, that's one of the cross braces between the girders. There are 3 of them in the attached photo.

As Chris stated they are braces to counter wind loading.

I think the exercise was to figure out what bridge or accessory piece that went to. I did some searching and couldn't find where Lionel made a tinplate red bridge that used that part, and I tried to think of possible accessories with truss girder framework that might use something like that and came up blank. About 3 1/4 inch square in size, might be closer to standard gauge.

Also looked at Marx and other manufacturers that might have used it and came up with no good hits.

Then I just saw this picture of a 300 series Hellgate bridge

I think I can see tabs when I zoom way in on this specific version. This is an MTH reproduction of the 300.

Yes! Thank you Vernon! I looked at pictures of the Hellgate bridge and just didn't see them hiding in there! This is what I was looking for, what Lionel or other manufacturer accessory this part came off of.
