I just picked up a small lot of Lionel items today. One of the 2 steam engines has no numbers on the engine or tender, but it is about the largest tender and steamer I have seen from the old Lionel.

Tender appears to have a whistle in it. Engine is in sad shape, missing smoke box front, trailing truck and at least one piece of side rod. The "top posts" of the motor appear to be sticking out into the cab, so I assume the motor is way in the back.

What is this big engine?

Thanks,

Thanks, now  that I know what it is, I have looked it up on the Tandem site. The paint is excellent, but it sure needs some repairs. I have not set it on the track yet to see what happens, as I just got the stuff home this evening. It does sound like it is worth trying to fix up, so that answers another question I had. I have $25.00 in it right now as it sits, so that leaves plenty of room for repair/restore costs.

Thanks again.

Well thanks, I had no idea what to offer for everything. I also got a 2037 +243W  tender that is all complete for $25.00, a 2033 set of silver UP, FA's that are pretty scratched for $25.00, and a Lackawanna Trainmaster with maroon roof for $100.00. There are 9 or 10 cars, a couple of parts only accessories, and a whole box of really dirty O gauge track and switches. I will have to take a photo of the whole lot and post it in a day or two when I get it all unpacked.
