I am at an absolute loss at this point. I have restored the premium app in both iPhones and continue to alternately receive no new engines,  time out, connection failure and no WIU/TIU found.

I did a factory reset on the WiFi module then went through the set up process as if it were a new system. Same results.

I deleted the app from my older iPhone 6 that is exclusively used for train running. Went to app store, downloaded MTH WiFi app from cloud - same result.

I’ve got solid power, WiFi and TIU lights glowing on the WiFi module. Module is on MTH and iPhones are on the MTH network identified on the bottom of the module.

Oddly enough, if I place engines on the track that were already in my new iPhone then hit the “refresh” icon, it will find the engine and allow me to start it up and operate normally. If I place an engine on the track that was not in the new iPhone and attempt to “add MTH engine”, I get the previously noted messages.

And through all of this, my DCS remote can find and operate any MTH engine I place on the track.

I would be extremely grateful if one or more DCS experts can weigh in here with your thoughts. I’m beginning to wonder if the problem might actually be with the WiFi module since the DCS remote and TIU appear to be functioning normally.

Thanks in advance for y’all’s thoughts concerning this.

Try a different input/outputs for your track and see if that makes a difference. You may have a bad TIU Channel.

I stumbled into this one yesterday.I have 3 WIU's on my layout and one had been acting up.  Finding a replacement was a herculean task but I managed to get one via an auction that @MrMuffin'sTrains was having.

Instead of reading the directions (why do that, right??!!??) I just installed the new WIU on my layout.  Because it was working, I thought I don't have the issue described in this thread.

I could only run three engines and had five on the track and no matter how many times I did a read, I had three.

Yesterday I decided to read the owners manual, thinking it may be a firmware issue that was causing the 3 WIUs not to speak to each other.  On page 5 of the owners manual it talks about master / slave (yep) of the WIUs if you have more than one.  I followed the instructions but was still having the issue.  After becoming increasingly frustrated I decided to create a lash-up, because that would show the WIUs, and thats when I found the message "Premium app feature" was required for creating a lash-up.

Following the restore process, I am back in business.  Happily, all works.
