Had a Hammond B2 with a Leslie 910, plus a Fender-Rhodes 88 Stage. Have the Rhodes at my house (shopping for a Leslie); the Hammond and Leslie are with my sister in California.

Speaking of Hammonds, though not technically a train song, the single version of "Time is Tight" by Booker T. and the MG's has a drum track that reminds me of the beat of a steam locomotive. Look it up on YouTube.

A working Leslie cabinet is something that would be a lot of fun to have.  I have lots of digital effects to try and simulate the effect, but there is nothing like the real thing.

My Rhodes Mark I is sitting in a shed these days because I don't have space for it in my home office, train room, music studio that is only 10x10.  As I always mention on this forum - in the next home.

I'm not blessed with musical ability.  But I am blessed with sound appreciation for music and musicians and I love to hear talk about the finer points of instruments, particularly guitars, keyboards and drums in that order.  So thank you guys for that.

Though this isn't a song that makes us think of trains,  I feel the need to post this lyric:

"And the three men I admire most
The Father, Son and the Holy Ghost
They caught the last train for the coast
The day the music died"

What train songs do I like? In no real order, except the 1st one...

1. Canadian Railroad Trilogy. I think it's the greatest song about trains ever written.

2. I'll just get this out of the way, any train song by Gordon Lightfoot, there are a few. TBH I've never heard a bad Lightfoot song.

3. Long Twin Silver Line by Bob Seger

4. Land of Hope and Dreams by Bruce Springsteen.

5. Night Train by Tab Benoit.

6. City of New Orleans Arlo Guthrie

7. She Caught the Katy by Taj Mahal

8. Midnight Special CCR

9. John Henry by almost everybody.

10. 49 Tons by Blackie and the Rodeo Kings.

I recorded pre-pandemic. I see him at least once a year.

For sure, there are hundreds of others, all good, but these are the ones I squeeze in anywhere I can.
