Back in the day, I would have said Radio Shack.  Now it's google.

Some of the results are larger than 1" but some are incredibly small (i.e., < 0.5") and might have a number of interesting uses on a layout.

Another interesting thing about searches like this is that they can often introduce you to manufacturers you didn't know about.  In my case: https://www.miscospeakers.com/ .

I use salvaged laptop speakers for stuff like this, they have sound engineered baffles and some can be very compact.  Here's a sampling of the ones I have currently in my speaker box.  Some of the best sound in both range and volume can be found in laptops, they spend considerable time engineering the sound.
