Does anyone know what happened to "El Comedor", a Pullman-Standard dining car (Plan 7517) designed to be used on the Golden Rocket (the train that never happened)?  Sources say that it was used on the Rock Island "Golden State" for many years.  Then it was used as a restaurant at the LaSalle Street Station in Chicago.

One 1975? report has it going to the Railway Museum of Greater Cincinnati, Covington, KY, but it isn't on their online roster.  There's a 2016 Flikr photo of the car, but it doesn't indicate where or when it was taken.  Interestingly, HO and N scale examples exist.

Thanks,

Thanks, Jim.  This afternoon I found another photo on the web of no. 428 that had the KY museum's name and location on it.  However the following undated link to the Railroad Preservation Index, says it's at the museum, but for sale and so cautions that it may no longer be there:

That would explain why it's not on their current website roster.  Mildly related, I also saw that a china cream pitcher from the dining car sold for well over $1000.

Best,
