Has anyone made Lackawanna E series or PA's in scale size (not RK or Lionmaster).  How about some F units?

I'm thinking Williams may have produced some PA's way back when.

Have a friend who just purchased some Premiere B&O E8's and plans to have them repainted. I personally think that would be a criminal offense...

MTH finally got the shipment in of their last and only run of Premier E-8's in Erie Lackawanna at the warehouse on 7/20.  I have both powered units (#820 & #822) shipping next week.

The only two things I wish MTH would have done different is:

1)  That they used the tooling they have for different cab numbers such as #814 & 817 which prototypically had Mars lights, 2 single chime horns, and portholes unlike #820 & #822 prototypically having no portholes.  I am wondering if this was do to lack of research or that an HO manufacturer who has done them in #814 &  817 has a liscencing agreement for those numbers?

2)  Why is the non-powered A unit they are offering a duplicate #820? Is it that maybe no one noticed this at MTH and or no one pointed it out (meaning us the consumer seeing in the catolog) to get it corrected before production?  They could have made it cab #823 which would be prototypical in having portholes, a multi-chime horn and single headlight.

At this point I am just glad they made them period.  I look forward to the day when things get back to normal and we can all be safe.  I look forward to the day I can run them for the public at the shows on our club layout.

Hi Marty and thanks for the reply.  My theory of MTH not being able to do #814 as seen in your video is wrong  However #809 prototypically did not have Mars lights.  Regardless those are beautiful engines and cars!  May I ask what train name is in the passenger station announcements?

Portholes or lack thereof vary according to the age of the unit. All E8s originally had portholes, at least the ones purchased by the Erie and the Lackawanna. As the side panels deteriorated and were replaced, the portholes were removed. Less of a maintenance headache. This is why you see a wide variety of porthole configurations. With all the portholes removed, the paint scheme was changed to have a yellow accent stripe in the maroon broken by Erie Lackawanna in yellow. Generally, if portholes are present, they are outlined in yellow. The road name is in maroon in the gray area below the maroon stripe. There are at least 2 variations in the name's font that I know of.

Sunset 3rd Rail offered FT diesels in Lackawanna and is currently taking reservations for Lackawanna F-7 units.

Wait, what???  I can't find anywhere on the 3rd Rail site to reserve DL&W F7s.  Please let me know where I can order them, despite my wallets objections.

In the past, 3rd Rail has indeed made FTs and E8s.  DL&W GP7s are currently in production.

Atlas has made F3s in both the passenger and freight schemes, as well as GP7s.  AM Hobbies had Atlas do a custom run of DL&W switchers.

Actually, there never was a Lackawanna 809.  Erie Lackawanna 809 was former Lackawanna 820 renumbered to avoid conflict with former Erie 820.  As EL 809 it actually did have a Mars light.  I believe EL 815 (former DL&W 815) was the only DL&W E8 to lose it's Mars light and that was when the nose door was replaced during the EL years.

I don't remember.  I'll have to get them out again and see.  Might take a few days.
