I am a 3 rail guy but found this neat C&NW bi-level car at a resale shop for $20.  Couldnt resist it.  It is wood and metal construction and appears to be a kit someone made as there are plenty of blemishes in finish etc.  What is this thing?20170513_12123620170513_12132120170513_121256

I'm amazed by the things that wash ashore on this site. Very good to know that Scale City got those ends and doors, do you know where the truck castings wound up? Wheels aside the side-frames in particular were fairly good for the prototype if a tad crude and a little soft; I'd want to sleeve the axle pockets for scale wheels sets.

I have three pairs of the 60' H&R C&NW sides, two used and one new if anyone here is interested; yours for the postage. Two are cab car sides, the other a straight coach.

I also have a similar single 80' set of nicely silks-screened sides in the two-tone grey SP Harriman as-delivered scheme. I wish I knew more about their origin as I'd like to find some more of them. I've been tempted by the Des Planes version; they're beautiful but I can't $wing more than one.

Holgate and Reynolds who then sold it to John Keil of Keil line Products. Cast ends and doors silk screened sides. We have the masters for the ends and doors.

I used a lot of H&R HO sheet brick back in the day. As soon as I saw that Bi-level it reminded me of the HO version H&R did......that'd been my guess.....

Altpete thanks for posting the pic of the trucks, I will look to see if we have them. As i stated before our castings are a much harder metal than the HT trucks as he was primarily a doll house miniature supplier plus we supply brass bushings with our truck kits.

Colorado Hirailer we offer the Sierra truck for these cars here is a link:
