The eye level shots are great. I stumbled onto that effect 20 years ago filming my trains with a camcorder. However, trying to glean information over the last several months on YouTube while deciding my how to landscape new layout, was frustrating. Practically all of the vids on YT were just trains rolling by at eye level. Glimpses of small areas showcasing just the trains, not a whole layout. Not even just a decent small amount of an area. It was apparent within a week or so that everyone was beating the whole closeup at eye level thing to death. It was extremely difficult to see what everyone’s concept of their little worlds actually were. Yes it’s all about the trains, but for someone trying to landscape their first layout it’s not really helpful. I’m just saying that it would be nice to see other layouts from a helicopter view while mixed with some closeups of not just trains but the little scenes that bring a layout to life. Just sayin’.

I agree. A mix of shots from different angles is good.
