I have the premium app installed, I still can't transfer my remote information, something in my file is causing that, MTH has my file and is working on it. So thought I would enter all my locomotives and accessories manually well I can't do that either, screen comes up no TIU found. Had two engines in there from before premium app installed , tried to run those and they disappeared when selected. I am on MTH wifi.  This worked good at shop but not at home, changed TIU's and still no luck.  Any suggestions ?

Clem,

I have the premium app installed, I still can't transfer my remote information, something in my file is causing that, MTH has my file and is working on it.

First, I've learned that the clone file that I submitted to MTH on your behalf is corrupted and that's why it won't work. I suggest that you delete the contents of the remote and create a new clone file. It's possible that if you used that ile to restore a remote you might well have problems.

Before you ask, I'll advise you that it's impossible at this time to know what might have caused the file to become corrupt, or when it might have happened.

Regarding the issues with the app not finding the TIU:

  • The issue is most likely not the TIU.
  • Did you do an app refresh before attempting to operate anything?
  • What do you mean "they disappeared when selected"? They should not simply vanish. More likely is that they went inactive.
  • What LEDs are lighted on the WIU?
  • Have you upgraded the TIU to DCS 6.0?
  • How are the WIU and TIU connected?
  • How is the TIU powered? If it's only being powered via a USB connection with the WIU, that's not good enough to operate DCS engines.

Barry.... how is an app refresh done ?

The engines that disappeared I don't see them active or in active. But then I can't get past the "No TIU found"

LEDS   pwr... wifi....TIU are lit.  WIU and TIU connected with the cable that came with WIU

TIU power Radio Shack transformer

If I erase and re enter my remote  won't I just have a corrupt file again?

I would rather just enter remote info manually into I phone  "keyboard".  And then clone my remotes from I phone ?

Thanks

Clem

Clem,

how is an app refresh done ?

As follows:

  • Launch the app.
  • Tap "Run My Trains" to get to the Engine Control Screen.
  • Turn on power for all engines that you want to be active.
  • Wait a full 3 minutes for WIU LEDs to stabilize. That means on steady, not blinking, although  the WPS LED may flicker occasionally.
  • Tap the Refresh button. It's the circular arrow at the top-left corner of the Engine Control Screen.
  • Tap the Engine Roster button. It's the "V" at the top-right of the screen.
  • The Engine Roster will appear.
  • Select an engine by tapping on it.
  • Tap the up-arrow at the top-right of the screen.
  • Run the engine.

And then clone my remotes from I phone ?

Sorry, you cannot.

The process only works from remote to app, and app to app. Not from app to remote.

Now, buy the book.

Clem, I sent you a private email...did you get it??  Here's what I had in the email:

"Clem, I have read your latest post on the forum re your DCS WiFi issues…  Is the file that MTH has the one I sent to you during York?  It might have gotten corrupted during the transmission email to you…" [added tonight 5/20]  I still have the file [I think];  I will try importing it into the app and see if I have any success...

We must  determine why the app is not finding your TIU... then maybe we can make a new remote file and try to input your data…  Do you have the capability of using the Loader to make a file from your remote?

Relative to the app: Do you use the MTH network or do you use your home WiFi network?    Do you have more than one WiFi network in your house?  I do and sometimes the iPhone or Android tablet I use to run the app connects to the wrong WiFi network and I get the “No TIU found” message…

Give me a call and I will try to help…  My contact numbers are in the email...
