I have paired down my O-gauge 3-rail to two locomotives. I still have a Williams FM and an SD-45. They run fine but my SD-45's lights are barely visible. I removed the shell and ran it and both light come on but  hard to see when it is running. I hate to put a lower voltage light in as it might melt the shell. I can live with the problem but I would like a bit more illumination. Any advice?

Connect the motors electrically in series.   The engines will not be speedsters and the higher voltage required to run them will brighten the bulbs.
