In talking to Winston Link at Liberty State Park RR Terminal at a Rail Expo in early 1980's, he told me a story about this recording...seems the local church organist was asked to play the song and requested to keep playing continuously until the train left the station or Mr. Link told her to stop.
This sequence was also on a O.W. Link video 'Trains That Passed In The Night' released in the 1980's/1990's by his photographer assistant Thomas Garver... https://youtu.be/GfId5bbfC2Y
At almost an hour long, this is a great train video.
A much longer recording of that night is on the latest "Fading Giant" CD. It is unfortunate that the organist hit those sour notes.
The “sour” notes are most likely not her fault. Many sets of chimes do not have bells for all the notes and the organist must improvise. This is still my favorite piece of Christmas music!
