I have several cars and diesels to which I've added people and lighting.  I try to leave enough wire slack to allow me to open it up without tearing stuff apart, but if I leave too much wire it can get in the way or, even worse, be seen from the windows.  I use Tamiya masking tape to hold down the wires that need to have some flexibility when opening the car.  It holds well, but it will peel off easily enough.  There are some wires that I tape to sides of the body (plastic) or bottom of the frame (metal) where I won't be taking it off very often, if at all.  I want those wires to stay in place under most circumstances, but would like the tape holding them to come off if I really need it to.  My question is, is there a recommended single-sided tape for this application?  I mostly use the double sided 3M foam automotive tape, and leave the top layer (the red part) on.

Personally, I hate the gum left behind by scotch tape, masking tape, etc,….do a search on those popular shopping sites for small or tiny wire holders, a plethora of useful gadgets pops up,….I’ve bought the 10 dollar bag of 1000 tiny clasps with the self adhesive backing,…..makes your work look cleaner & neater,…..some are very thin, and no larger than half the size of a finger nail,….
