I am using an MTH Z1000 controller to run various Lionel and Williams by Bachmann locomotives conventionally (old school).  I see that the "brick" has two accessory tabs on it. I want to hook up an Atlas search light signal or a 3 color aspect signal to the Z1000, how do I connect the wires from the signal to the brick?  Is there an MTH device that will allow me to wire additional accessories?  How many locomotives can a single Z1000 safely run?  Right now, I am planning to use three Z1000's to run three different loops (is this overkill?). There aren't any turnouts on any of the three O gauge loops.  Thank you for any information on this. I checked out You Tube but it either was confusing or did not cover my question.

Ira G:

I installed a MTH Z1000 "brick" with its track power circuit connected to lock-ons around my L-shaped layout. Its 14v fixed circuit is wired to three distribution panels with 12 outputs each -- 36 total, although not all terminals are filled. The 14v circuits feed 10 O-gauge switches and many operating accessories and lighted buildings. No overloads to date! Several photos attached - showing about one-half of the layout.
