If it's like the car wash, there's a separate switch under the building that turns the smoke on/off. To connect an external switch is pretty easy. Just put a wire on each lead of the building's switch and connect them to the external switch. Then either switch will turn the smoke unit on. Just leave the building's internal switch in the OFF position and you'll always be able to turn the smoke on/off from the external switch.

Matt,

Thank you for your reply.  I have a K Line smoking bunker car that has that seperate switch your talking about.  The brewery has two seprate wiring terminals for the smoke and stack and lights respectfuly.  I'm trying to figure out how to wire a switch in-line for the smoke so that I can turn it on and off while the building always stays lit. Don

If the smoke unit has separate terminals, just connect them to a power source with a switch on one of the leads. You'll be good to go. If you e-mail me a photo of the terminals or the instruction sheet I can give you more details.
