For the record I’ve purchased Barry’s DCS WIFI Companion 2nd Edition and could not find my answer in the book. That’s not to say the answer isn’t in there. Probably just a reading comprehension issue. 😉

Now for your challenge!! Honestly, it’s probably not much of a challenge for the experts on here.

I have two completely independent loops on a 10’ x 8’ level table top using Ross curves and turnouts with GarGraves for the straights. My power comes from a MTH Z-4000 (left and right handle outputs) connected to a TIU (Fixed Input 1 and Fixed Input 2) version I3a (power from Z-4000) with the WIU (powered by wall wart), connected by a USB/serial port cable to the TIU. The TIU is then connected by Fixed Output 1 to Loop 1 and Fixed Output 2 to Loop 2.

The left handle on the transformer powers the TIU and Loop 1. If I turn the left handle on the Z-4000 up to 18 volts my iPhone and iPad connect to the WIU and all works as advertised. Once I power up Loop 2 with the right handle I get the dreaded “TIU/WI-FI not found” message.

What wiring step(s) am I missing?

Thanks!!

The TIU needs power for itself from either Fixed #1 In or from the TIU’s Aux Power port.

To make Fixed #2 work, also turn up the handle into Fixed #1.
