did you try the method in MRH?

Right now I'm using some painted plastic until substitute is made. Saw article and it seemed like good idea, if done with a bit bigger wood. But maybe it doesn't matter.




Another thought is to try cutting some large sagebrush trees down to size or use some branches from trees. The article though is the best blueprint I have seen no matter the wood.
Think that Scenic express sells a scene with a split rail fence. not sure if it can be purchased separately.

Spliting a dowel with a band saw should work also. rough in a grain with a file and stain it.

If you are doing wood plank fencing I think you could use wooden coffee stirrers for the fencing.

I was thinking of what type of wood to use. It is a very clever use of wooden chopsticks and bamboo skewers. I considered wooden dowels but I knew that it would be difficult to drill a hole on a rounded surface without a drill press.
