Hello; has anyone used the woodland scenic track riser kits on an o scale layout. Whats your opinion ? will the foam be strong enough to hold brass or die cast locos. They only rise 4 inches , I'd have to fabricate additional risers to get the necessary height. just trying to save shop time making risers. thanks

I have used it and I really like it. I run an O-81 curve on mine with a Premier Allegheny and Class A. Not a worry about weight. The foam is dense and designed to handle it. Here are some early and middle pictures. I will try to take on tonight showing the bridge installed in the middle. I am very pleased I used the foam as plaster cloth adheres to it nicely.
It works great but a bit pricy if need a bunch of it. The kits really smooth out an incline and are easy to manipulate using some pins to keep things in place before using glue.
These are the T-Pins I used to keep it in place when I bent it. My table top is insulation foam board on top of my plywood so it was easy to pin it.
You can stack them on top of each other to elevate the track high or increase the grade. The risers/inclines make very smooth grades and the area around the risers can be filled in with paper to make rolling hills and such.
I have used it on my (former) On30 layout and found it to work very well. Grades are exceptionally smooth and the stuff is easy to work with.
