You must mean “ends” instead of “sides”, I never saw any snowplows that were mounted on the sides. Then again, having lived my entire life in South Florida, I’ll admit to not knowing much about snow. Down here, the FEC (who never ventures out of Florida) has snowplows on all their locos. I haven’t noticed if they are on both ends or not. I’ve been told they are there to clear tracks of debris left by vandals, not snow.
