I am looking to purchase a 3rd Rail PRR I1s Decapod (3-rail) locomotive.  These engines roamed the Panhandle.

If they have TMCC, smoke, RailSounds (Large Steam), and rear electro-coupler already installed, that would be a bonus.

Regardless, I am looking for one in TCA C-7 condition or better.

3rd Rail made models in 2 variations:

  • Post-war with long tender
  • Pre-war with short tender

In a perfect world, my preference would be to have the Post-war locomotive and the pre-war short tender, if possible.

Otherwise, my preference is for the short tender version.

If you have one or more to sell, please send me email (in my profile).

Thanks,

George

Not for sale,  picture help.    Decapod has an interesting flange configuration.  1st, front driver, is flanged and the (4th) driver is flanged, which allows operation on smaller layouts.  Other three drivers are blinded drivers, (flange-less)  Tenders, with four axle trucks, (Pennsy long haul tender) , can be a problem.  ??There were models with a smaller tender?? I think?? ,  Top shelf.

Very good low speed gearing, ?? Discussion at the time (30:1) I think ??  one of the few models, that runs well without electronic speed control.  Don't expect high speed.  IMO.

Per a Dan G., Fort Pitt Highrailers, discussion, related to the above post. One of the younger members, (Mateo??), of the Fort Pitt Highrailers club, also has a 3rdrail Decapod. One, that Matt Irwin had, (it's was damaged, a floor crash).  It still ran well, had bent cab roof corners and a few pieces that were CAed in place.
