You can buy a writable black module and download the update from Lionel.
John, I don't have the cable to connect to my computer, and I use a Mac. Seems easier for me to just buy the written modules when someone has finished using them.
also I have 4 blue modules with 1.3 loaded on them if anyone wants to take on johns method of cutting the pins and painting them black.
I will be doing several sets for Charlie Ro later this week. He will have them available.

Send me four blue modules and I'll send you two back modified with 1.54 on them.

Wow, I just loaded the 1.53 Black Legacy Module Upgrade, is there a New 1.54 or was Zett thinking 1.53 and accidently hit 1.54???.. Things are really moving fast at Lionel.

There is a 1.54, it's mostly for 50hz issues.
Bug fixes for Non-U.S./50Hz AC customers.

Only Lionel can tell you if future upgrades are coming. I doubt this will do anything other than fix some 50hz issues, I believe Lionel posted that some time back. Since that was what was available when I was ready to upgrade, I used it.
