Starting to look for Lionel Legacy Pennsylvania E-6 460 "Lindbergh Special"  SKU 6-11224

http://www.lionel.com/products...rgh-special-6-11224/

This is the 2010 release of the engine with the pinstripes on the tender and round numberplate (not the more recent release).

I would be interested in one that is either new or gently/lightly used.

If you have one that you would sell, please send me an email with the price you that you would be willing to let go of it for along with pictures of the engine so I can see the condition.

Thanks!

Well, I own a Lindbergh No. 460 6-11224 and, as luck might have it, I have had no problems at all. Arguably, it is the prettiest Atlantic Lionel has done and it makes a historically unique set with its cab number-specific Railsounds when mated with the two heavies (baggage car with dark room and coach) that make up The Lindbergh Special . NO wish to sell, BTW. Just sayin'.

Respectfully,

Bob

Bob, the trouble happens if you ever have to open it up for maintenance.  It's stuff(ed) to the gills!

Yes, I am aware of the potential difficulties. However, the engine and two car set have unique appeal ... both aesthetic and historical ... which is why folks chase them.  There are a number of trains like that, as I am sure you well know. It was on the front of the catalog, no less. After a decade, my sample is still fine.

By the by, you did not state that you can't fix the 6-11224 Atlantics if they have a problem; just that you don't like fixing them.

In good fun.

Last I checked this doesn't have cab number specific crew talk. Video here

Stand corrected.

Very nice video of a very desirable locomotive. Artistic license aside, one doubts that No. 460 ever pulled heavyweights solo around Horseshoe Curve ... not without double heading, anyway. A quick run between Philly and the Jersey Shore would be more like it.

Thanks.

Bob
