I am looking for one Black Lionel Slag Car. I am from SW PA. and about 65 years ago as children, my brother and I visited a relatives home near a mill as night was approaching. A long line of moving cars came out of the mill, so we tried to see how many cars we could count before the orange glow vanished. After dark we counted for probably an hour to see if we could get above our record high of 18 cars. Long story short, his health is not good and we recently talked about this experience. I didn't know it until now, he was just as impressed as a child as I was with this simple act that barely lasted an hour. I started to look for a slag car and the price for new ones are impressive. Used would be great, even with play-ware, its not important at this point, box not needed. However it has to be one of the black ones like, Bessemer, Bethlehem, and a Lionel. The MTH units are too new and I don't ever remember seeing them.
I do have a used MTH hot metal car that has play-ware (some scratches) and would like to trade it for some portion of the slag car cost or maybe someone else wants it - however it works out. I will add a MTH picture when I am able.
