Traditionally the tinplate heavy dealers are side track hobbies and western depot.  (Both excellent btw)

My other favorite for new in box tinplate is B&F hobbies in Wakefield Rhode Island, but he has no website.  He is pretty good about using the mth product locator or just call him.

A big ++1 on Sidetrack Hobbies. They have one of the more extensive inventories of tinplate on hand. Give Al Rudman a call there. A forum sponsor.

He doesn't keep the product locator up to date. I called him earlier this year and he had nothing that I requested that was listed in the product locator.

Here's a not-very-good shot of part of my 263 and 260 motive power collection. Will post better photos with the glass doors off and better lighting at some point in the near future. I am a big fan of the bright, shiny, unmarred, and quiet-running tinplate put out by MTH over the years in their Tinplate Traditions and Lionel Corporation Tinplate lines, and I have a lot of it. A separate display case, which I will also photograph and post at some point, houses my collection of the smaller 249 and 264 series locomotives from MTH. I have a number of display cases in my office/lounge/train room area--most of which contain O scale models--but first-time visitors always comment on the tinplate trains first (generally after commenting on my all-black-painted open ceiling).

I will be constructing a small O gauge tinplate layout near my under-construction full-size O scale layout in the fairly near future (I hope), because I do have a good number of tinplate (MTH and Lionel) buildings, bridges, and signals that need to see some use so I and others can enjoy them.Tinplate 263s and 260s
