Good luck in your search, this was a popular locomotive by 3rd Rail and as I recall less than 125 were built in all three offered versions.

Okay, didn't know that, so unlike Lionel, MTH, Atlas, Bachmann, and most other train manufacturers, Sunset Models (3rd Rail) Brass doesn't keep how many locos they make top secret? Sure wish the other train companies would follow their lead and divulge production numbers and amounts produced.

Being a small company with a very focused mission, it is not like the larger manufacturers.  For a 3rd Rail / GGD/ Sunset project the numbers of units manufactured normally falls in this range:

Brass Steam:  100 models typical, but will sometimes move forward with 75 orders.

Plastic Diesel:  750 units minimum with a minimum of 20 units for a paint scheme and road specific details.  For example the E8/E9 currently in production has 30 paint schemes in one run.

Aluminum and Plastic Passenger Cars:  Typically a 2000 car commitment so approximately 250 sets for an 8 car set.

Having said that, the Mollie does show up from time to time on that auction site.

It's fitting to resurrect this thread today as I'd truly be so very thankful if anyone on this forum could lead me to this engine. They say never give up hope so while realistically I'm not as optimistic as I once was for locating this engine, I still remain nevertheless hopeful. that it will happen.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone

Btw, MJ Breen, have you had success locating this engine?
