Yes you can use the serial port to run accessories off the tiu like the WIFI unit

I recently started a thread about a L version TIU of mine that no longer read the 1.0 WIFI unit through usb.

What I ended up doing is buying a serial to usb cable and connected the cable to the serial on the tiu then to the usb of the wifi.

You must however use the the fixed in voltage 1 to get the power from the serial to the wifi.

Hope this helps someone who also lost their usb on their tiu.
