Hey Guys,

Many of you have been posting about the various items you were lucky enough to grab while at York.  Some of you may have seen some great deals but passed on them.  Later during the show you regretted that decision and went back to get that great steal.   But low the item(s) had been sold to the guy just ahead of you!!!!!!!!  Then there is this pain that you have to endure as the customer lodes just what a great deal he just made!

So if you have a great story, please share it with us here as we'd all have made such mistakes while in the pursuit of our beloved trains.

Some years back, I saw a great deal on a round table that was what seemed to be in perfect working order.  The seller wanted $200 for a 32" table that had a homemade assembly that controlled the operation of the table.   Needless to say, It was quite dusty and needed some tender loving care.  I passed on it only to realize that I made a major mistake.  By the time I recalled where I had seen it and went back to the table in question, the unit had just sold a few minutes earlier.  Needless to say I was bummed about that!

So what are your stories?

I am one who posted a bunch of great finds at York.  The reason I jumped on them was that I have procrastinated in the past and missed out.  This time, I took the advice GHD just gave and made the quick decisions.  I don't believe I will regret any of them.  The few times I have bought something, then later thought, "Why did I buy that?", I have been able to help out another person by selling them the item they have been looking for.

At York I literally could not find my way back to the right table after passing up two passenger cars.... The more I thought I knew where they were the more I was lost.

Even if you think you've found the right table, and don't see the item, 3 questions pop up: Do I really have the right table? Was it sold? Was it moved?

I can see that happening to me.  Especially in the Orange Hall.  I went back in the second day, it took a while to find where I left off looking
