I know there are lots of reasons to attend the ED semi-annual meets, but lets face it we cruise the aisle looking for trains and train items. Hope you were all successful and found a few items to take home.  What did you you all get??

I for one was lucky and found everything on my list, focusing on items to (complete) advance my home layout plus an engine surprise that found its way into my car. Here is what I got.

Lots of Die cast cars and trucks

Lionel PRR Sounds boxcar

Pipe load from Ralph's Trains

Atlas Flatcar and Boxcar frame ($1 each)

Scenic details

2 K-Line inter-modal spine car sets

Lionel Y6B

No locomotives this time but I was close. Working on some unit trains and found great deals on tank cars, covered hoppers, and cylindrical hoppers. Several will be repainted and new decals.

How could I forget these?  The OGR shirts are super and of course we know the mystery producer of the items in the lighting regulators in the plastic pack.

  • MTH Christmas flat car with angel and shepherd
  • Williams Chuggington engine for kids run - $60
  • Rio 1:43 Mercedes Benz 300D with Vatican flags and a Pope John XXIII figure
  • A few Arttista and Metal Figures people
  • Some mini furniture to put in the back of a delivery truck for house moving scene

I didn't have a big list of wants or needs as our layout is in transition, but always enjoy going for the pure love of it. It also gives us a chance to visit the Toy Train Museum, Choo Choo Barn and load up the car with Halloween pumpkins from the Amish farms in the area.

The Conventional New Haven EP-5, basically for parts.

A Lionel Weaver N&W RPO to add to my Pocohantas set.

MTH Flats with cannons.

Snowboarding Santa gondolas

Polar Express stock car with bobbing reindeers.

Lots of repair parts for projects.

An RMT Christmas Buddy for $30....new.....

An MTH New York Central snow plow....I guess cause I was freezing on Thursday with the wind chill....

Books from Kalmbach.

Videos from TM.

Probably forgot a few things.....

.....and more fun than I can list seeing old friends and making new ones....

Peter

I started real slow, but found some stuff today that made my week. Got passenger cars, two nice buildings, two tank cars, two Canadian National cars and a good find, 4-6-0 NYC Legacy Ten Wheeler. I was amazed it was still there.IMG_20191019_195211IMG_20191019_195233IMG_20191019_195324IMG_20191019_195353IMG_20191019_195420IMG_20191019_195445I had popped back to Strasburg at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania to look for a book but alas it wasn't there. I'll have to look elsewhere. I was hoping to get 611(again) but missed her somehow while I was book hunting. I thought for sure when I left I'd see her or #90, but was not to be. I probably have WAY TOO MANY PHOTOS of Strasburg anyway. I'll have to get posting them and what videos(that aren't too many MB's) posted in a few days. Still a little busy playing catch up.

Steve,

There was a Lionel Y6b in the red hall for $500. Is that the one you bought?

Been looking now for 5 years for a UP B unit to go with the MTH E8  ABA proto 1 and given up hope that someone would break up the set. The new ones recently released will not work with what I have. I did find at Eastern Depot a UP pa b unit powered at an excellent price and it fit the mold! Finally!

Bought some other stuff but found what I have been seeking for a long time. York does have its benefits and worth going twice a year!

Marveled at some of the wheeling/dealing.....got A K Line Lackawanna Trainmaster at about 1/2 off from anywhere else I've seen and it is NOS!!

My hunt for all K Line smoking cabeeses continued with a beautiful "BC Rail" which also was NEW OLD STOCK but the price was again, about 1/2 less than what I've seen so far.

So the York modus operandi might well be, " at York, get it asap...wont see that again".

Got this in the Orange hall. It came Hank Todaro, who was sharing space in Harry Hieke's booth.

Steve

Pretty good  York even if I didn't find any engines on my want list.  Did get a couple of subway sets, buildings, people, lighthouse, flats with subway cars, smoking caboose's, and a bunch of miller signs.

Now I'll let everyone in on a little secret I found works for me....pick up some flowers for the wife on the way home and bring them in first.  Then she wont even care or notice what you bring in next. Lol
