I am very excited to post this thread!

The biannual York breakfast has now been scheduled!!!!! Thursday, October 20th.......

I figure an arrival time of 0715-0745.....with departures around 0915-0945.

The place: the same.....the Round the Clock Diner, 222 Arsenal Rd (Route 30 just east of the I-83 interchange).

All are welcome.....traveling alone? Small or large group?  New to TCA? First York? With your spouse? All are welcome!

Come join your fellow York attendees as we catch up on the news over the last 6 months, meet new people, put a face with the name you've been talking  to online, and discuss what you're hoping to find as you walk the halls. For York 1st timers, it’s a good place to get ideas from York veterans on how to approach your day.....

It is always a fun time!

As always, just leave a your name  and approximate number of attendees.....I have told them 25-30, but that can easily be expanded......

I can taste those Round-the-Clock pancakes already..........and, it's the Fall, so Pumpkin Pancakes are available!!!!!

Never been to it, and will be staying at the Sheridan Four Points, so will make sure to be there!

Peter, you will be in the company of the greatest group of guys and be sure to discuss trains the whole time at breakfast(between drinking coffee or tea and whatever you decide to eat).

The earlier you get there, the better choice of seating you will have. Peter(Putnam Division) always makes sure to greet everyone that is there, talk a little bit about yourself, your interest, all the good things. You will definitely have a hearty breakfast for sure.

The staff already know what to expect, and will be ready to make sure you have all you need to drink, and eat. If you have never had breakfast at the Round The Clock Diner, you can look it up on the web. Needless to say, they should have anything you want.

@Putnam Division, unfortunately Peter, I won't be there this year which most already knew. My dang car ran up quite a bit of money this year so it canned all my traveling plans for this year and then some. The most recent issue thank God is under warranty so I won't be paying a dime. I'll put aside money in hopes of next. Thing is, maybe it is time for a new car. Oh boy. Car over trains, not unless it is a big have to. Have a great time all, make sure you have enough money for all you need and be sure to eat great.

@PeterA, see about the OGR meet Thursday night at Quaker Steak and Lube. There will probably be a posting(or mention here) pretty soon on the forum as well. Great place to unwind and talk about the deals you got or even missed. Have fun.

Dave

No worries, I can provide Thursday AM "wake-up calls".

Looking at your zip code, I figure an 0330 call will get you here in plenty of time.

Peter

Your post made me chuckle out loud!  It's actually an early morning work call that would interfere, not be getting out of bed.  Now through January is my busiest time of year.  And a 0400 wake-up call would suffice.

Greg is making excuses, he lives right around the corner from me!  He needs to get his butt out of bed and on the road.

Unlike you men of leisure I still have to toil away to eek out a living which allows me a small modicum of participation in the hobby!!!

Trust me, not being there has nothing to do with getting out of bed and everything to do with fact AEP just kicked off for Medicare and thus begins the busiest part of my work year...lol

And now I need to leave early Friday afternoon as I have an event to attend at 1 Citizens Bank Way but at least I still get to hang with folks Thursday night and spend 10 hrs wandering the halls!

I still work as well but I can't make it. If I could, I'd be right there bright and early with my good buddies.

Sorry, that doesn't preclude a 5AM awakening Greg, you can't explain your way out of this!   Suck it up and come to breakfast!

I'll be leaving at 4 AM Thursday morning from Northern Westchester County, NY, so I hope to arrive at the diner between 8 and 9 AM, depending on traffic.

Arnold

Heck Arnold, that is a drive. Wherever your worst traffic areas are, make sure you are getting around them at the worst time. Heck, if you could get up a bit earlier, maybe 3:30 to avoid those areas, it would well be worth it. I don't know what the drive is like, but I do remember when I was a kid my father would get us up way before the sun rose for those really long trips like going to Maine and Massachusetts.
