"HONGZ" stands for HO scale, N scale, G scale, and Z scale.

Post your non-O scale stuff here!

I've always wanted an indoor layout in Large Scale. Many years ago we were in Florida and came across a huge train store in a warehouse. They had an indoor layout that was vast and poorly lit so it was difficult to see everything. The owner was the developer of Delton Trains who had retired. I was just adding trains to my hobby shop back near New Orleans and knew very little about the then current state of the hobby.  Later as I became familiar with the different aspects of the hobby I came across Gargraves track in Large Scale. I was thinking how much more realistic it appeared than the typical LGB brass track and similar products from others.

Am frankly surprised that these fellas would not have used it for this indoor project in lieu of what is better suited for a narrow gauge layout with the wide spaced ties. Especially since they are operating American prototype equipment. Here is an example of the Gargraves that I happen to still have a few sections of.

Does GG still produce this product? If they used their stainless rails and chemically treated the ties it could be used outdoors I would imagine. It was not expensive either.

Which track appears more realistic and in scale with the caboose (1:29)?

I jokingly refer to it as my 'Pearl of a great price' as I've sold off a couple of others to cover the freight. The level of detail is amazing for such an 'old' production locomotive. This one has no electronics. I will eventually decide what to use to make it operational. Am considering a full RC battery installation rather than a PS3 setup.
