I was so disappointed to learn that the YouTube meetup at York for this April was cancelled. I enjoyed last fall's meetup very much, and the planned meetup this April was going to be the high point of my trip to York this time as well.

Last fall's meetup was so successful, and it's a shame to see that momentum die. I understand that it's a lot of work, and that the YouTube presenters have full-time jobs and families, but I hope this event returns next time.

I don't think I would have gotten back into the hobby without the videos by @ericstrains.com, @Cmontagna, @jdstucks, @Sean's Train Depot, @Chris1985 and Peachy. I learned a lot about the design/build/scenery/purchasing process, discovered that not all layouts or trains date from the era to 1960, and was surprised to find that there are some model railroaders out there who are well under retirement age.

Thanks to all for their inspiration and I really hope to see you again at York next time!

Yes it was unfortunate that the event couldn't take place this time around. Unfortunately, it was advertised without anything having been planned. I look forward to working with the guys to organize a great event this fall! Thank you for the positive comments on our content, as Jason mentioned, that's the best compliment we can get, it's why we pour so much into our videos!

Same statement applies to me. I ventured in Mercer Junction just to see what was available because I watched a lot of videos on Youtube and was impressed. It definitely got me back into the hobby.

Excellent!

This thread shows how social media can play an important role in our hobby, especially the demographic who use social media for good thing (like this).

While I'm in the older set of people in the hobby, The YouTube group of the 6 mentioned above really let me know what's out there.

Anyway, if there's a meeting at Fall, and I can make it to York this year, count me in.

In the past it's been difficult to get a meet notice changed. It usually is a copy and paste.  I had notified them when we were no longer doing a Legacy meeting and yet it still appeared in the meet notice and was announced for at least 3 meets if not more.  Best option is to contact Debbie well before the meet if possible so she can edit the meet notice.  She actually has been pretty good at getting the changes made.

Depending on whether Lionel actually comes in the fall I will have to organize a Legacy/Base3 meeting and I will do that through Debbie.  In the past I've dealt with Mike but I think he's got a lot on his plate.
