I was testing out a TMCC engine on my track and noticed that the coupler only buzzed when activated. Looked over the z4000 and there wasn't enough power...only 13v showing.  So I lifted the handle till I had about 19v problem solved. I found some dirt on the tracks, powered down and did some cleaning. Powered up, lifted the handle and discovered i could not get to 19v ....at full throttle, it was now only showing 15v!   Verified with my voltmeter.  Trackside measurement and voltmeter readout on the z4000 agreed.

So, to rule out any wiring issues, I disconnected all the connections from the transformer.  Lifted the Track1 side handle to max several times, each time with a different output, varying from 15 to 25v at full throttle.  I then went over to the Track2 side throttle...  it consistently goes from 0 to 25v at full throttle every time, as expected.

The z4000 ammeter shows 0 amps at the low voltage maxes, but sometimes 0.1-0.2 show when I full throttle above 20v. (Again, nothing connected to the Z4000)

Anyone experience something similar or perhaps has clues as to what's wrong?  I did a forum search and didn't find any reports of varying max voltages.
