Just wanted to be sure I'm setting things up right, Lionels YouTube videos are out of date.

I recently acquired a PowerMaster (637146), and legacy Cab1L set for use with my Post War ZW. These purchases were with the intent of running PW Lionel, control of Command Control switches, and future Legacy equipment. It appears I select the 180W setting on the PowerMaster and, while the following video is using TMCC Cab 1 & Legacy, it would appear I connect as identified from 5:30 to 7:06 in the following vide.

If someone could please confirm my understanding or provide corrections, it would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help. - Tony

Tony, I'm new to Legacy/TMCC.  So please take this with grain of salt.  I also have a PW ZW and 135/180 Powermaster, but instead with the Cab 2.  It's my understanding that the power connections and antenna connections are the same for the Cab 1L and Cab 2 and as mentioned by Mike in the video you're referencing.

Are you also using the 6-12893 Power Adapter Cable between your ZW and the Powermaster?  If so,

Power Adapter Cable Fused lead to ZW Hot (A,B,C, or D), the other PAC lead to Common (U)

Cab1L Base U to any U connection, and all U connections are connected together (preferably with only one common wire between each device) and to the Outer track rails.

I'm replying mainly so that your post gets elevated back to the top of the Recent Posts.  Hopefully someone else will either confirm or deny.

Thanks Steve, yes, I'm using the Lionel fusef molette cable from my PW ZW.

Also can you confirm the PowerMaster should be set to 180w.

Thanks again - Tony

Tony, the 180W setting will allow you to apply more of the power available from the connected PW ZW to the tracks.  If you set it to 135w, it would limit the Powermaster's Pass through current more.  I believe the 135W setting would also cause the PM breaker to trip at that lower output threshold.  This could be desirable if you don't need the full 180W, because the very fast PM breaker would trip at a lower current when a derailment occurs.

Either setting will work and would not harm either the ZW or the Powermaster.  I believe it's just a matter of deciding between more power or more safety for the trains.
